Nathalie and the chef Yoshiyuki Tokuzumi welcome you to "PARIS Bis", their French cooking restaurant open in October 2005 and located in the center of the city of Kyoto, near the most famous cultural and sightseeing places of this ancient imperial city of Japan: - Northwards, the Teramachi street with antique shops and the famous tea shop Ippodo, the Imperial Park and Palace, - Eastwards, the Kiyamachi canal and the Kamo-river, - Southwards, the shopping arcades of Teramachi, the Sanjo street with The Museum of Kyoto, the famous Nishiki Market Alley and the Shijo street where are the Departement stores : Hankyu, Takashimaya and Daimaru. Access: Ouest side of Kawaramachi-Nijo, in the building next to the convenient store Daily Yamazaki, the restaurant is easily accessible by bus and subway from the "shiyakusho-mae" station. The nearest station by train is "Sanjo" of the Keihan line. The atmosphere is like "at home", family, nice and cosy. Prices are very reasonable and the volume good. You can find the menu written in Japanese and in French, but you can naturaly receive some explanations in English from the chef Yoshiyuki Tokuzumi or from Nathalie. The cuisine is traditional, creative, fresh, home-made and the tastes based on spices and herbs. You can eat as much home-made bread as you want. You can taste some French wines in glass, pitcher or full bottle. They are well selected and prices are correct.
